Shadow Gallery - Official Site

This was our last gig of the tour. Although many of us were ready to go home to warm beds and showers, we also were very sad to see the adventure end.  Vosselaar is a very small Belgian town and when we arrived we were greeted by the very hospitable Cindy and Bob.  They were fantastic!  They had food, showers and Internet access ready for us upon arrival. One of the funniest things was Joe outside trying to organize his suitcase. He looked like a homeless person on the street sidewalk.  Some of us threw some coins at him. It looked like he needed it.

This day the entire D’Images film crew would join us to capture the gig on 7 HD cameras.  So there was a lot of set-up to be done. This crew was fantastic to work with. We had a lot of time to prepare and everyone felt ready to kick some butt.  We knew it had to be special since it was going to be on camera!   As a special gift, Shadow Gallery also had Maplerun’s set filmed for any future DVD release they wanted to do.

Once again pre-orders were offered for tour t-shirts and more took advantage of it this time. So many familiar faces were at this venue, including Rene Janssen of ProgPower Europe , our journalist friend Vera, the very talented tour promo video editor Danny, and the InsideOut Music President.

It was one of the most enthusiastic audiences on the whole tour, and although much smaller the energy was almost as great as Athens.  There was lots of fist pumping and singing and they really enjoyed Brian’s venture into the audience to sing on the final song. It will be great on video!

This was the end of a beautiful experience.  The night commenced with some of us doing some whisky shots to celebrate the finale. Then the real chore began.  We had to pack all the gear into the suitcases again, and pack our own belongings. We had to use our dirty clothes as packing material since the bubble wrap was very minimal.  It was very sad.  There was a lot of hugging and a few tears shed, knowing that the next morning we would be saying goodbye to our new family. It was amazing how well 14 people could get along so well with so many tense moments and slight hiccups along the way.  We had the time of our lives. 

The next morning the Shadow Gallery gang was dropped off at the Dusseldorf, Germany airport and the Maplerun/WarCry guys were to continue on to the Brussels airport. This was probably one of the most difficult goodbyes ever and an experience none of us will ever forget. 

Brendt: Last gig of the tour and was filmed for DVD.  By this point my voice was pretty shredded, but I managed to make it through the show.  Saved up all my energy for this show from the last few days and we all went nuts.  The crowd was great and we all had a blast.  Few things are as cool as having awesome Belgian beer, in Belgium, with Belgians. Was hard to say goodbye to our tour mates in Maplerun.  4 of the best guys I've ever met.  We were blessed. No matter what else happens in life, we did this...and we KILLED it.
